David Johnson, Arizona Southern Baptist Convention executive director, presented a 2014 Statistical Profile to the Convention Council at their meeting May 19. He read the following summage paragraph:

“A thumbnail sketch of the AZSBC in 2014 shows that we started 34 new churches during the year, four more than were started in 2013. We now have a total of 466 churches, a net increase of 17 churches. adjusting for churches which ceased to exist or left the Arizona Southern Baptist Convention. Total church membership is 68,187, with an average worship attendance of 34,060, a decrease from 2013 figures. Our churches had a total of 24,576 people in Sunday School/Bible study groups, as reported by 298 churches. These churches averaged 79 in Sunday School/Bible study groups, down from 90 the previous year. There were 2,516 baptisms reported, down 120 from the previous year. These baptisms were reported by 249 churches, 3 more churches than reported at least one baptism in 2013. Cooperative Program giving for 2014 was $3,157,457.18, up $44,424.22 from the previous year. The Arizona Mission Offering receipts were $134,807.18, up $15,955.41 over the previous year. Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for International Missions receipts were $699,116.21, up $72,514.43 over 2013. Annie Armstrong Easter Offering for North American Missions gifts were $358,430.34, up $37,867.30 over 2013. Hands-on mission activity reported by the churches totaled 12,873 persons involved in some kind of missions activity outside the local church, up 478 from the previous year.”
